Most popular baby names of 2025: Liam, Olivia and Muhammad

Every year, official statisticians publish the names given to babies born the year before. The 2025 lists are out on both sides of the Atlantic: Liam and Olivia in the United States, Muhammad and Olivia in England and Wales.

What the lists tell us
- Olivia is the girls' favourite in both countries. In England and Wales it tops the list for the tenth year running.
- Theodore is everywhere: 4th in the US, 9th in England and Wales.
- Vintage names are back: Florence, Elsie, Ivy, Arthur, George and Freddie in England; Henry, James, William and Evelyn in the US.
- Short names keep rising: Leo, Luca, Noah, Mia, Ivy, Isla.
